Frequently Asked Questions...

Waxing

1.Is there anything I should do before my waxing appointment?

Make sure your hair is long enough...(1/4 of an inch long or two weeks not shaved)...Make sure the area to be waxed is clean. Facial waxing is NOT recommended for clients on Retin-A or oral acne medications, such as Accutane and blood-thinning medications. These medications make the skin more sensitive and increase chances of irritation or other complications.

2. What should I expect at my first visit?

First time clients will be asked to fill out our intake/new client form. When entering our treatment room, we will ask you if this is your first time waxing. Our esthetician will ask if you want to go completely bare or leave some hair. We will go over post-waxing care with you and how to keep your skin radiant.

3. How long should my hair be before waxing?

Make sure you hair is long enough before your appointment. The hair should be at least ¼ of an inch long, or two weeks not shaved, to achieve the best results.

4. How long will my Brazilian appointment take?

15 to 20 minutes -We try to get you in and out and back to your busy day!

5. Can I wax during my period?

You CAN wax during your period; although there is a possibility of higher sensitivity during, or near, your menstrual cycle. In order to perform the service, we do ask that you use an appropriate feminine product, such as a tampon.6. Will it hurt?- We use hard wax. Our hard wax is stripless and only grabs your hairs, therefore, resulting in an almost pain free experience!

7.  Will I get ingrown hairs?

It’s possible! You need to make it a part of your daily routine to keep exfoliating! We offer PFB Vanish that works wonders for those stubborn hairs! You may also use a loofah and/or scrubs.

8. What should I do after my Brazilian?

For the next 24 hours, avoid tanning beds or direct sun exposure, creams with fragrances, excessive heat, and exercise.  We do not want more irritation to affect the area, which might result in bumps or ingrown hairs. We want you to have smooth, beautiful skin! Make sure you exfoliate with our PFB vanish and use a feminine wash for best results!

9. How often should I get waxed?

Every 3 ½ -4 weeks.

10. What exactly is a FEMALE Brazilian?

All hair is removed from the pubic and genital area including bikini line, labia and anal strip- using hard wax. Some people prefer to have some hair left behind, while most go bare. It’s all personal preference.

11. What exactly is a MALE Brazilian

All hair is removed from the pubic and genital area including shaft, scrotum and anal strip- using hard wax. Most prefer going bare, however some leave hair behind..its all personal preference.

12. What are the benefits of getting waxed?

By using wax to pull hair out by the root, your hair becomes softer and thinner. The more you wax, the less hair grows back. When switching to waxing often rather than shaving, you have less irritation and smoother skin.

13. Should you shave in between waxing appointments?

NO! We do not recommend shaving. It disrupts the hair cycle, plus you are more likely to experience bumps and ingrown hairs from switching to shaving after waxing.

14. I have an upcoming event, when should I schedule my appointment?

When going away, either on a beach getaway or a special event, if it is your first time, we recommend scheduling two months prior to get your hair on the right hair cycle. The more often you wax the better results you will have. If it is not your first time, then schedule a few days prior to your event.

15. Is it safe to be waxed down there if I’m pregnant?

It generally is considered safe; we still recommend you consult your doctor first. Many pregnant women choose to get waxed down there. Due to your hormones your hair grows faster as well.
